Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all my followers, I have been very busy with gift buying and wrapping and making loads of goodies for Christmas Eve and christmas day.

I am working on my Blackbird Designs exchange and have one piece finished, i was not happoy wth what I did so I am making my partner another piece to go with the first one, you know sometimes when you stitch something and you look at it and say what was I thinking, I did just that,
I will send them off on friday this week.

I finished putting together two owl scissor fobs and will show you pictures later this week, I am just to lazy oops too busy to take pictures right now.

I took my Mother shopping to pick up last minute gifts, we are not big gift givers mostly we like to just get together and celebrate the season, and eat loads of stuff we donot normally eat during the rest of the year.

It is a balmy -7 degrees right now wow are welucky or what, this weather really makes me appreciate the warm weather yes even the 90 degree weather I love it and hope it gets here soon, ummm Santa, could we have warmer weather please.

I have to show you this picture only because I think it is a hoot, it is a billboard on I94 in Minneapolis, I think it is so funny, the cows are the size of a real cow.

I love Chic-Fil-A, yummy food and great people who work for the company.
I am getting ready to purchase my threads for Easter projects, I will buy  Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe, I love Nancy's threads.
I am working on a Blackbird Designs Easter Parade Bunny love it so much.

I am also working on the stash of finished stitching projects that have been in hiding for so long its time to get things framed and finished into something I will keep you posted.

Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe givaway

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all:

Nancy over at Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe is having a great giveaway,  you will have to go back a few post to find the 50.00 giveaway post but make sure you do, what a generous Lady.
http://victorianmottosamplershoppe.blogspot.com  please stop over she always seems to have a giveaway going and the fact that she dyes her own threads and trims should get you to stop over and take a look, I have used her threads and trims and love them, you get almost three times the amount of hand dyed threads from Nancy as you do from some other companies.
I won a trim package a couple of years ago and love the trims, I need to order more, so you can guess where I will be this week-end yes ordering more trims and threads for my Easter projects.
So just pop on over and see for yourself how lovely Nancy"s blog is.

Thank-you

Thank-you for all your kind words about my problem with the hacking, as I sit in the Dunn Bros. coffee shop in Alexandria Minnesota after a long 2 1/2 hour trip in minus15 degree weather with a wind chill of about minus 35 degrees I am content, even after spilling my latte, what a mess I made,  I am worried that this world has come to a drastic kind of world  one person turned my world upside down.
I am one who is so skeptical of things like let us protect your world, I mean the company Lifelock, I am not doing an advertisement for them I just want to say thank-you to my wonderful Husband for purchasing this program without them I do not know where I would be today with the hacking, they are fabulous, Mike purchased this program even tho I said no, I am so glad he did it saved us lots of headaches and heartache.
I am again not trying to get you or anyone to purchase this I am just so glad we had it with the hacking of my computer that has all our personal stuff and banking on it.
Now on to some great news, my wonderful and sweet Mother is having a good winter by this I mean the turkey comb injections she is getting are working she has bone on bone in one of her knees, the first injection was a steroid the next three which were one each Monday for three weeks,  they are  working, she has to go back in may for a series of three more, she can almost walk without the walker now I am elated.
I love my beautiful Mother so much, however we did not get along for many years I guess that when you have two headstrong people that do not share the same ideas it can be a bit hard, I am extremely conservative she is a not,   she use to be so  liberal  not anymore, you  see she was at one time a union organizer a women who was very strong in her beliefs.
Now I look forward to seeing her every week-end, she has turned into a hoot, I am so sorry if I hurt any ones  feelings I am just not a union person. I was getting bigger raises before they came in.

Now I have to tell you I have not done very much on the decorating side of the season, last Thursday and Friday I was busy at church with the Christ Child luncheon, I am in charge of the bake shop, wow we make some pretty good money for charity, St. Ignatius Church has been doing this luncheon for 35 years, we get people from far away coming to the luncheon, the dining room is decorated in a Christmas scene this year we did blue in Honor of The Vergin Mary this is her season until Baby Jesus is born, some people were asking why we did not have Baby Jesus in the manger, he comes on Christmas Eve.

I have been working on some exchanges and cannot show you anything today and besides I forgot my camara today.
I plan on working somemore on the needlepoint I won from Edgar over at Blacksheep  Bit of the web, he is a hoot, I hope you follow him.

I hope you all are staying warm and cozy in this awful weather.

Happy Holidays

Being Hacked ISHW and a Beautiful Exchange

Hello everyone and welcome to my space in blogland.

I was hacked and had someone purchase itunes worth 50.00 from my Paypal account, I had to change all my passwords, in total that would be 22, they are all different so the process took much longer then I wanted, if you ever get hacked please change your passwords as soon as possible, I was on the computer when this happened so was aware of the theft right away when Paypal sent me an emailthanking me for my purchase,  can you imagine my surprise, what a mess, I even had to go to my bank and let them know what happened, they are keeping an eye out for any unusual activity.

I did loads of stitching on my ISHW weekend, some things I cannot show you because they are gifts and another exchange.

I stitched this free Drawn Thread pattern for Shannon, on my ISHW week-end I only used part of a pattern,   I found this on the Drawn Thread web site, I used Victorian Motto Sampler Threads and DMC threads, I am not much at  finishing so  had to do this one myself.
I can show you now because she has recieved it.
I need to get another green gift box this one I fell on and smashed before I could get to the post office so sorry Shannon.

                                                            This is the pattern

I was in an ornament exchange with Shannon over at  A Bit Of This and That,  I only sent Shannon an ornament,  I feel bad so will have to send her a special gift, she has a beautiful Heart she  sent me this beautiful ornament and a few goodies, I love buttons and trims and beads all things dear to my heart.

Thank-you Shannon I love all the things you sent the ornament is so beautiful.

This is the new star that was made by one of our Parishioners it covers up the Crucifix but lets Jesus figure show through it is really beautiful, this was an idea from Father Victor, thank-you Father for a beautiful display for the Holy Season.

This is the Nativity we used to have in front of our home, we decided to donate it to Church it really is large there are three hay bales under the building holding it up. I will miss it so much but will be able to see it at Church, some children are wondering why they cannot see Baby Jesus, they are very curious about this, we tell them Baby Jesus comes on Dec. 25 they are okay with this bit of information.

I am so excited about the Holy Season, I love this time of year even the cold is bearable now but only until the first of the year then I want warm weather.

To some of you who have emailed me about my lovely Mother she is doing much better now that I am making sure she is seeing the doctor like she should, she has only been in the hospital four times that is when myself and three brothers were born.

So I want to keep her as well as possible so I may have more time with her she is 83.
Thank-you all y comments in my previous post.
Please stay warm and pray for better weather for us all.

Merry Christmas

Veterans Day Thank-you

I wish to thank all the Veterans past and present for the dedication you offer to the United States of America, I am so proud of you all, I am very lucky to live in a Country that has such dedicated and loving people like you.
My heart hurts to know some Veterans gave their lives to keep us free, my heart also hurts for the Veterans that have come home with injuries that we all can see and the injuries we cannot see.
Thank-you from the bottom of my heart.
Thank-you for serving.

Oh no snow

We had our first snowfall this week all over the state had different accumulations in Minneapolis they only had a dusting, in Annandale we had 2 inches, ouch I hate snow the older I get the more I long for warm weather, even the humidity does not bother me, I sit out on my front porch and stitch if its 100 out, it really is hard to stitch outside if the temps  drop below 60 degrees.
I only have a few things to show, I made a new owl needlebook but cannot find it to take a picture maybe it is at Starbucks where I was stitching on it.
I made scissor fobs for the october retreat group 32 of them I did them in pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, I sure like the Ladies from our group they are a hoot, everyone has a personality that is very unique, I love them all.

I have a new project I am going to start after I finish my Chessie and Me Hallow Wee House, I do like the Homespun Elegance patterns all Sandras patterns offer something different, to satisfy my tastes.

I was gifted another bag of threads most are DMC about 10 are Sullivans threads, which I do like but like to use the DMCs and over dyed threads more often. However I have used many of Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppes threads you get more then double the amount at the weeks and other overdyed threads. Thank-you Judy Z. Who is in arizona in warm weather lucky girl.

In august at  Minnesota Needlework Guild Retreat I finished one of my penny rugs I am finally getting the other one done  this evening,  yahoo I just need to sew the black mat onto the green mat.

This is my Chessie and me which I started at october retreat, I was working on a bracelet and the owl needlebook that weekend also.

I want to thank-you all for your wonderful comments and to welcome all my new followers, some of you donot have a follow button so I cannot follow you.
We are getting the house ready for the Holiday Season, this year we will not be putting up the big Nativity Scene up, my wonderful Husband donated the building to St. Ignatius for their Nativity  so it will not be out in the snow.
I think he is wonderful and generous man thank-you my Handsom Prince. This building is about 4 feet long by four feet at the peek it has a glass front we did not want to use plexiglass because it gets so cloudy and scrached up over time.
We are going to keep the Nativity  Figures and use them in front of the fireplace.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

My ISHW week-end

I did manage to get some stitching done I also worked on my candy box I lined the inside with skeleton fabric from Joann Fabrics, I used the ricrack from Victorian Motto Samlper Shoppe, I love this trim, The Prairie Schooler pattern I finished in august. I found the box at a second hand store it was a wood jewelry box.

This is the Shepherds Bush Forget Me Not I finished stitching this earlier  but did not have the right frame, I did not want to use a mat, I found the frame at a second hand store, I realize I need to take it apart becaues there is now a wrinkle I need to take care of darn.

I put the finishing touches on this last week, this is a gift for someone special, I  have painted the frame and need to find the right mat before I can finish this and send it off. ( Sorry about the wrinkles)

I do have one more finish but my camara battery pooped out so I will post a picture matbe tomorriw or thursday.
Happy stitching and blessings

Just a few things

Good day to all my followers and welcome to my new followers, I am happy you are here.
I have afew pictures to show some stitching some not, I am a stitchers at heart but do lots of beading.
I took a class last month and did a bracelet from Becky at Becka Beads, she does ship if you need something.
Thgis is a pattern from Adele M. Kimpell @ Bead Dreamers here in minnesota, Adele granted Becky the right to teach a class, I love this bracelet, I never thought I would do anything in gray, it looks so pretty on my black blouse on the cuff.

Up Next is the Touch Me bracelet this is also a bracelet class from Adele M. Kimpell from Bead Dreamers  in minnesota, I love this bracelet I was the only one in the class that did two colors, I am daring I guess, it is so soft and fun to touch hence the name, it is an easy stitch, I plan on making some for christmas.

I have shown you the front and back because you do a peyote stitch first and then add the black and white beads, I love this bracelet it is by far my favorite.

This is Blondie looking at my StitchersVillage page for some reason she likes the black bird I tried to get a picture of her touching the screen but everytime I opened the lens she turned to look at me and dropped her paw. She is my little helper, if you donot belong to Stitchers Village please pop over I have a button on the side bar of my page, they play bingo twice a month and have other fun things to do.

Okay I tried to rotate this picture but have no luck so sorry you have to turn you head, this is a Chessie ans Me I started this some time ago, this is one of my up for a fifteen challenge I should post on that site.  28 count fabirc unknown  type, threads a mix of DMC Weeks and Sampler threads.

I love this little frame and it fits the stitching very well, I stitched this last april but did not have a frame I liked so I went  looked at the second hand stores until I found one I like, I think the star button looks good it looked so plain without matting so I thought the star would add a little to the space.
I love the Homespun Elegance patterns they have a bit of whimsey and charm.
I stitched this on 28 count something or other fabric I am not sure I use lots of my rements for stitching smalls.
The threads are all the threads called for, they are the some Weeks and some Samplers I love doing the Delivering series, they are adorable.

This is what we came home to one day a little while ago, Blondie must have been very upset with us, before we leave in the morning we give her three little morsels of treats to make sure we have not locked her in a closet or out the door, and with my Husband being in law enforcement, he thought it was funny to show this to me, I get a kick out of him he can be so silly sometimes, this was one of them. She thinks toilet paper is the thing to take her aggressions out on.
This week-end is IHSW and I plan on getting lots of stitching done, donot forget Stitchersvillage is having bingo on the 22 of oct. you must be a member to play I have won three things from the bingo nights.
Happy Stitching
Blessings.

So Sad today

Cathy from Pumpkin Patch and Co. passed on to our Lord today, how sad it is to have lost such a beautiful soul.
I am praying for her Family and hope the transition is easy.
I sit here with tears in my eyes because she was so young and fought such a battle, sometimes Our Lord needs to take his Children home early.
She is now in no pain and I am sure she is enjoying her life hereafter.
Blessings to Cathy's Family.

A Great Retreat and lots to show

Good day to all my followers the ones that comment and the ones that just follow, I thank-you with all my heart.
I was on a wonderful retreat at the Belisle Ranch in Wisconsin from 9/24 to 9/27, the Ladies I was with were such a great group, I had the pleasure of meeting some new faces and what a joy they were, my tablemates were Mary from Minn. and Cathy from Iowa.
We had lots of giggles and great food.
Cathy and I spent an  hour and a half in the indoor pool and fifteen minnutes in the hottub, then a shower and dinner that was sooooo good and cooked from scratch.
The owner her son and daughter-in-law are wonderful host and hostesses, I also had an hour long massage oboy oboy oboy it was totally awsome, Jeff does a wonderful job giving a message, I slept like a baby.
They have horses and cattle and a house cat that is such a lady she loves to be around and help with all our stitching.
I have to give a thank-you to Gloria for arranging this wonderful week-end.
Hello to Julie who  I have not seen for almost two years, I sure miss her.
I also want to give a shout out to Jan wow what a ball of fire, she is a hoot I could spend another week-end with her she had me in stitches.

now onto some of the things I have been doing, first is a very small penny rug, I started this the retreat week-end and finished that same week-end. I love this little guy.

Next is another stitch I finished at retreat this is a Chessie and me  The Gift Is Small, I love this pattern I just wanted to put it on a wooden box to carry some of my stitching tools, however I covered up a little of the frame around the edges of the fabric. I stained and finished the tool box myself.

Up next is a small  stitch from Cherry  Hill Stitchery, I did this on 32 count (I am not sure of the Fabric) just something from my stash, one over one, I wanted a small wol scissor fob and this will do the job.

This is something I started on my ISHW week-end and finished I love this owl I will finish it maybe this week-end into a needlebook this is from The Cats Whiskers What A hoot is the pattern.
I am not sure of the fabric this is another piece of fabric I found in my stash however it is 28 count.

I have started a new Chessie and me  The Hallow-Wee House, I hope to have it  finished this week-end.
This was kit I bought at Stitchville USA my fav stitch shop.

I plan on starting a few Homespun Elegance ornaments this week-end wish me luck.
I have been busy with alterations and some bead work which I will show next post, I have a bracelet class this saturday and a Church Festival to go to on sunday with GG my Mother, another chicken dinner and bingo oh yah.
Have a pleasant fall week.
Blessings.

Ishw Weekend

I did get lots of stitching done, I cannot show you pictures because the battery in my camara is pooped out, so I will share the pics next blog.
I still have pictures from august Guild Retreat.
First up is the beautiful thread keeper from LaRue, she made these right in front of us all, she used some kind of epoxy that had no fumes, they are adorable, I was kind of jealous she had these and never dreamed I was going to get one, I love it LaRue.

Next up is the little box with a needle from Carol my roommate, she is from N.D. I did not expect to get such lovely gifts, thank-you Carol I love them both.

I had a wedding in the middle of my ISHW my Husbands Niece got married, she was a stunning bride, she was such a tomboy growing up and now a beautiful woman.

I did make it to Mass on saturday evening in the middle of the wedding only because visiting Aunts and Uncles wanted to go, otherwise we would have went  on sunday.
I also took a bracelet class on saturday morning, now I am not the best beader but this bracelet was my favorite of all the things I have beaded.

I love this bracelet I just need to add the fringe which will be done maybe next week.

I also wanted to show you the pattern and threads I won at Guild Retreat, I know I know I am jumping around alot but I am after all an airhead.
Lizzie Kate ABC Lessons, I would never have bought this but now that I have it I am in love with it, I plan on starting this next week.

Next I have to show you what came in the mail yesterday, from Conny from Holland, this is an exchange from the Blackbird Designs Exchange site, I love this adorable pillow, Conny did such a beautiful job her stitching is beautiful, I am a nut for trim and she did a beautiful job with this.
Thank-you Conny I love it, it will go on my shelf in my living room.

This coming thursday I am off on a week-end retreat in Wisconsin at the Ranch, I was there in march and loved it.
I have made a little something for the owner she is adorable and this reminds me of her, tell me what you think of this Tilda Angel.

I am off to the hottub for a half hour and then I need to watch the new show The Goldbergs.
Blessings to you all.
